Snapshots broaden our view of the world

I've read the letters criticizing the “Snapshots” page and I'm saddened by the mindset expressed in them.
There's so much more to life on (and beyond) this planet than what's happening in “our” cities, “our” state and “our” country. These “Snapshots” are a daily travelogue. They provide us with glimpses far beyond “our” windows and opportunities to step for a moment into lives and experiences other than our own.
So, instead of viewing them negatively because they're not about “us,” I hope readers will see in them the similarities we all share, will learn from them (and their captions) about the differences and will marvel at the wonders of our vast world.
