Two hurt in crash east of Palo

Two people were hurt early Sunday after their car went into a ditch near Palo.
The crash occurred at 12:47 a.m. Sunday in the 9000 block of Blairs Ferry Road, just east of Palo, according to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office. Emergency responders arrived to find a black Honda in the south ditch. The vehicle's driver, Brittny Slaybaugh, 20, of Cedar Rapids, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital by ambulance, and a passenger in the car, Jordan Adams, 27, of Cedar Rapids was taken to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance. A third person in the car was unhurt.
The injuries are non-life threatening, officials said. It's believed that all occupants were wearing seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation.
