Cherry, Irnola L.
Irnola L. Cherry, 92, of Independence, formerly of Rowley, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at the Buchanan County Health Center–LTC, Independence, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Independence. Burial will be in Quasqueton Cemetery, Quasqueton, Iowa. Friends may call for visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at White Funeral Home, Independence.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Jim Franck) Thompson of Quasqueton, and Cheryl (Victor) Larson of Saukville, Wis.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
She was born in Buchanan County on Sept. 16, 1917, the daughter of Carl Raymond and Helen Clara (Ciesielski) Sauer. On Jan. 12, 1938, she and Charles Fredric Cherry were married at the Methodist Parsonage, Independence. He preceded her in death in 1988.
