Ella Marie Potter, 97, of Keystone died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at the Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab Center in Vinton. Private funeral services will be held at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone with the Rev. David Lingard officiating. Interment will be at the Keystone Cemetery.
Ella was born July 15, 1920, in Dysart to John and Caroline (Stroh) Cohrt. She attended country school and was later married to Wayne Potter on Jan. 6, 1943, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Van Horne. Wayne preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1991.
Ella and Wayne farmed in the Van Horne area for many years and they retired and moved to Keystone in 1983. In her leisure she enjoyed bowling and dancing.
Ella is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; her sisters, Elsie Albers, Julia Kotouc, Anna Gimm, Velma Childers and Helen Fellmet; and her brothers, George "Jack," Fred "Fritz," Ernest "Ernie" and Edward Cohrt.
