Junge, Marilyn Ann
Marilyn Ann Junge, 84, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Solon Care Center in Solon following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, with Pastor B. Andrew Wright officiating. Interment will be held at Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday.
Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, the Keystone Cemetery, the Iowa Department of the Blind or Iowa Hospice.
Marilyn was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Naperville, Ill., to Arthur and Cora Pohlmann) Katz. On March 31, 1951, she was united in marriage to Wilford Charles Junge at Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville. The couple raised their family and farmed the Junge family farm near Keystone and later moved to town to operate Keystone Produce. Wilford preceded his wife in death on July 8, 2002.
Marilyn was employed as a bookkeeper for Benton Mutual Insurance Co. before her retirement. She was one of the original members of the Twelve Bells Card Club, enjoyed gardening, sewing and cross stitch. She especially loved playing cards and games with her grandchildren and listening to books on tape.
She is survived by three sons, Charles (Sue) Junge of Montezuma, Roger (Diana) Junge of El Cajon, Calif., and Bart (Susy) Junge of Solon; two daughters, Jennifer (Andrew) Fitzpatrick of Arvada, Colo., and Janine (Dave) Crowe of Larkspur, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Leona Feuerbach of Keystone.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Hergenhahn and Ruth Numrich.
