Junge, Curtis F.
Curtis F. Junge, 92, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone, with Pastor B. Andrew Wright officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. today.
A Memorial Fund has been established.
Curtis was born July 3, 1920, near Keystone, to Louie and Emma (Seeck) Junge. On March 8, 1944, he was united in marriage to Ruth L. Peterson at the Lutheran Parsonage in Norway. The couple farmed and raised their family near Keystone.
Curtis was a member of the Keystone Turners for many years and the Polka Club. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, fishing, and playing cards and was a Kernels baseball and a basketball fan. He loved attending his grandchildren's sports and school activities.
Curtis is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth L. Junge of Keystone; his sons, Keith (Wendy) Junge and Kevin Junge, both of Keystone; his daughters, Coleen Broxey of Marion, Carol (Jeff) Ealy of Newton and Connie (Bill) Hreha of Eagan, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his brother, Irvin (Betty) Junge of Keystone; his sisters, Lois Schlotterbeck of Keystone and Marilyn (Russell) Rieder of Newhall; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Dorothy Petersen.
