Pohlmann, Lillian Scheel
Lillian Scheel Pohlmann, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, with the Rev. Dr. James Eggert officiating. Private committal services will be at Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
A memorial fund has been established.
Lillian was born Dec. 17, 1922, at Keystone, to Edward and Nan (Jordt) Deppe, and graduated from the Keystone High School in 1940. On Sept. 18, 1940, she married Howard Scheel at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone. The couple lived in Benton County most of their married life and owned an operated The Round Table in Garrison. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1978. She married Leonard Pohlmann on Nov. 1, 1986, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Leonard also preceded her in death.
Lillian was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Keystone Turnerettes. She had served as a volunteer at the Keystone Nursing Care Center and she loved flowers and Polka music.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Gary) Dundee of Center Point, Jan (Daryl) Rachuy of Jesup, Peg (Rudy) Hoffa of Chelsea and Cindy (Craig) Pattee, Terri (Kenny) Andorf, and Randy (Teresa) Scheel, all of Garrison; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jeanne Stein of Keystone and Arlene Fintel of Cedar Rapids; and her brothers, Jim Deppe of Keystone and Robert (Carol) Deppe of Ames.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her grandsons, Danial Schellhase and Mark Dundee; and her brother, Richard Deppe.
