Dawn M. Straw, 49, of Center Point, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at the funeral home.
Dawn was born Dec. 9, 1968, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Jack and Kathryn (Newland) Clyde. In 2002 she married Mark Straw. Dawn loved working as a hair stylist. She was an avid Hawkeyes and NASCAR fan. Everyone she met was never considered a friend; they were considered family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Mark Straw of Center Point; two children, Trenton Clyde of Vinton and Katelyn Straw of Center Point; three siblings, Deb Clyde of Cedar Rapids, Diana (Phil) Holmes of Indian Valley, Idaho, and James Clyde of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Kathryn Clyde.
