Yamilkoski, Noah Paul
While in the arms of his loving parents, Jesus came and carried Noah Paul Yamilkoski, 13, home on Thursday, May 26, 2011, after an inspiring, valiant battle against cancer.
Noah was born March 23, 1998, the son of Paul E. and Kristi A. (Dague) Yamilkoski in Hickory, N.C. He was a seventh grade student at Center Point-Urbana Middle School. Noah gained his courage from God's word, including his favorite verse “I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.”(Philippians 4:13)
Survivors include his parents, Paul E. and Kristi A. Yamilkoski; two sisters, Tori and Tiffany; and his grandparents, Paul J. and Cathie Yamilkoski of Toddville and Dick and Linda Fellows of Center Point.
Also surviving are uncles, Robby Dague of Center Point, and his children, Ryleigh and Avery; Andrew (Tammy) Yamilkoski of Toddville, and their children, Jazmine and Aidan; Matthew (Stephanie) Yamilkoski of Toddville, and their children, Korin, Ashley, Anthony and Andrew; and “aunt,” Kim Vock of Iowa City.
He is also survived by a tremendous extended family: the community of Center Point, the Center Point United Methodist Church, the Stormin' Pointers, and the staff of the University of Iowa Children's Hospital, including special doctors and nurses Mary, Amy, Rich, Brian, Sarah, and Trish and social worker, John, who cared for Noah during the treatments he received while fighting against cancer since the age of 5.
Noah enjoyed Tae Kwon Do, riding his bike and skateboard, and playing Pokemon and many other games. He loved helping and giving to others. He was an adventurous child who threw danger to the wind and lived his short life to the fullest.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, 1000 Third Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mike Ellson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Center Point United Methodist Church, 823 Summit St. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, rural Toddville. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point.
A memorial fund has been established in Noah's memory and may be directed to: “Noah's Rainbow” to benefit Aiming for a Cure, at Keystone Bank in Center Point.
