Northwestern pregame -- Ferentz video
Marc Morehouse
Nov. 9, 2010 3:11 pm
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz gives an intro and then is asked about the health of running back Adam Robinson and defensive coordinator Norm Parker, who is returning to work on a limited basis this week.
Here, the topics are Northwestern QB Dan Persa (He's not in awe of anything, he just plays really well."), the number of true freshmen (nine) who are contributing and true freshman middle linebacker James Morris. He also makes a quick comment on the shave job he gave himself. He was kind of nicked on the chin.
Here, Ferentz is asked about the health of DE Adrian Clayborn, the production of the D-line and why Northwestern has had so much success against Iowa. Ferentz contends the 9-to-2 turnover ratio is pretty much the reason why.
Here, the topic is how Northwestern, an institution know more for academics, remains successful. Also, Ferentz is asked if last week's scare at Indiana actually strengthened his team, if Northwestern has been mentioned much during the season or week to week and more stuff on turnovers against the Cats, not problems on defense.
Here, it's LB Jeremiha Hunter. "He's been a solid, steady performer." Hunter's return to the lineup and broke up two passes against IU last week. He suffered a knee injury against Wisconsin and missed Michigan State. Also, concussions are a topic here.
LB Jeff Tarpinian could return full-time to the lineup this week. He's likely looking at OLB when he returns, giving Iowa Morris, Hunter and Tarpinian, likely the strongest group it can put together in the face of the avalanche of injuries at the position this season.
