JAMES "JIMBO" RITCHIE
Cedar Rapids
James "Jimbo" Ritchie, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died July 13, 2016. There will be no services.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Ritchie; son, Brian (Kirsten) Ritchie; stepchildren, Penny Pence, Brad (Frankie) Pence and Tim (Megan) Pence; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence (Charlton) Ritchie; brother, Jack Ritchie; sister, Mary Ritchie; and first wife, Jean Ritchie.
James Ritchie was born Jan. 29, 1926, in Minneapolis, to John and Florence Ritchie. Jimbo served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines. He married Phyllis Pence ("sweetie face") on Sept. 21, 1979.
Jimbo was part of the Lake Delhi community for 60 years. He retired from the Plumbers Union. Jimbo was a lifetime member of VFW Post 788 and American Legion Post 298. Jimbo and Phyllis enjoyed traveling, boating and playing cards. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
