Redeker, Thomas D.
Thomas D. Redeker, 78, of Iowa City, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center due to complications from diabetes.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, Dec. 11, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Iowa City at 10 a.m., with Father John Spiegel officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m., with a rosary starting at 3:30 p.m. at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens.
Thomas was born on March 6, 1935, in Washington, Iowa to Paul and Francis Redeker. He graduated from Coggon High School in 1953 and worked for Kwik-Way Manufacturing in Marion. Thomas enjoyed traveling and spending time with his two grandsons, Gage and Camden.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, John and Matthew; daughter, Melissa (Ryan) Steckly; two grandsons, Gage and Camden; and two sisters, Sharon Hudachek and Phyllis Dvorak.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Charlene; and his brother, Jerry.
