LeGrand, Charles 'Chuck' Donald
Charles "Chuck" Donald LeGrand, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 12, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Ludmila Catholic Church by Father Thomas McDermott. Burial: Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Kelly; three children, Skyla (Branden Hoth) LeGrand and Kelly Clark, both of Marion, and Robert (Cindy) Hanson, Center Point; four grandchildren, Jordan, Kayla, Bobby and Dakota; sister, Jean Fagan, Cedar Rapids; brothers, Jerry (Rose), Jim (Bev) and Allen (Stephanie) LeGrand, all of Cedar Rapids; and longtime friend, Lyla LeGrand, Bertram.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Rita (Lange) LeGrand, and a brother, Don.
Charles was born Sept. 14, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, and was a lifelong resident. He married Kelly K. Campbell on Oct. 30, 1999, in Cedar Rapids. Chuck graduated from Lisbon High School in 1975. While attending high school, he was a wrestler and went to the State Wrestling Tournament in 1973 and 1974 and won at State in 1975. Following graduation he worked as a welder at FMC and later worked with his father and brothers at LeGrand Siding and eventually came to own Chuck LeGrand Siding.
Chuck loved sports, especially his Hawks and Packers. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and playing golf. Chuck was a dog lover and loved his four little buddies, Abe, Prissy, Lucky and Rocky more than anything.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
