As I traveled through the states,
I was constantly looking for a mate.
It was in New York that I found my quest,
I was sure that Verna would be the best.
Throughout the years, she filled the bill,
Smiling, loving, caring at will.
She had many friends whose lives she touched,
And she always helped in the clutch.
She was a wonderful mother and a good wife.
In our life, we had little strife.
Verna, we miss you.
Verna, we love you.
Lest we forget Verna.
