John "Jack" Allison Kammerer II, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, July 13, 2015, at his home following a long battle with cancer. Services: 11:30 a.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home by Penny Ackerman. Friends may visit with the family after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Jack is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Karla (Paul Shedd) Kammerer of Riverside; son, John Kammerer III of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Ezra Ryker Kammerer of Cedar Rapids; dog, Alice; and sister, Judith (Larry) Bauer of Napa, Calif.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
Jack was born on Jan. 5, 1942, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of John and Evelyn Lotz Kammerer. He married Kathleen Baxter on Oct. 24, 1964, in Flint, Mich. Jack was the executive vice president of marketing for Raytheon and the Vector Corporation in Marion, retiring in 1999.
Jack enjoyed playing golf and bridge. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy or the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
