Normalea Ann (Maloney) Krumbholz, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, in Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with a rosary starting at 4 p.m. Burial: Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Wayne Krumbholz; her children, Karl Krumbholz (Jackie Murray), Michele (John) Frett and Tracy Krumbholz (Jess Lester); her grandchildren, Katie (Aaron) Hoyle, Alisha (Craig) Dzikonski, Laura Krumbholz (Zach Smith), Sarah (Casey) Lawrence, Scott Krumbholz, Keenan (Erin) Lightner, Carla (Jason) DeBoer, Calla Frett, Danielle Krumbholz (Darrell Sides), Ellie (Sam) Carrell, Jude Frett and James Krumbholz; great-grandchildren, Kaylie Hoyle, Zachary Hoyle, Austin Hoyle, Vanessa Hoyle, Olivia Lawrence, Bo Lawrence, Jake DeBoer, Drake Lawrence and Colbie DeBoer; her siblings, Loras (Arlene) Maloney, Marylou (Art) Van Cleve, Shirley (Jim) Kane, Louise (Ray) Larson, Kathy Maloney and Tom (Dianne) Maloney; and sisters-in-law, Flo Maloney and Barbara Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Velma and Elwood (E.J.) Maloney; her son, Scott Krumbholz; her daughter, Teresa Krumbholz; her daughter-in-law, Vanessa; her brother, Elwood Jr. (Bud); her brothers-in-law, Gordon Jones, Kenneth Krumbholz, Dale Krumbholz and Al Neyens; and her sisters-in-law, Josephine Krumbholz, Janet Krumbholz and Aileen Neyens.
Norm was born Sept. 17, 1932, in Fairfax, Iowa, the daughter of Elwood and Velma (Hasley) Maloney. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1949 and married Wayne Krumbholz on Nov. 15, 1951, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Norm worked for Armstrong's Department Store, Universal Credit Union and White and Johnson Law Firm in Cedar Rapids. She was a charter member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, where she was active in the Rosary Society and she was a sponsor for several years in the RCIA program. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and most of all spending time with family and friends. Norm will always be fondly remembered for her undying faith, her great cooking and caring for anyone and everyone who needed her.
