Dort, Judith E. 'Sunshine'
Judith E. “Sunshine” Dort, 68, of 5410 Wyoming Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Rob Dort; her siblings, Kenny Arnell and friend Suzie, Jimmy Arnell and wife Nancy, Jane Hines and Patty Jean Arnell; a sister-in-law, Connie Arnell, all of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Allissa Rachel Dort of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; many nieces, nephews and friends; and her pet dog, Sissy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Jean Arnell; two brothers, Phillip and Richard Arnell; and her special dogs, Cindy and Susie.
Judy was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Sam Arnell and Jean Rick Arnell. She was employed by Collins Radio and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. She loved music, gardening and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed bowling, camping, CB Radios and collecting porcelain dolls.
