Ohnesorge, Dennis (Ohney/Papa)
Dennis (Ohney/Papa) Ohnesorge was born Nov. 20, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Marguerite Rosenthall Kersch Ohnesorge and Robert Ohnesorge. His brothers and sisters are Dick Kersch (deceased), Betty Furlong, Shirley Williams, Roger Ohnesorge (deceased), Roberta Valentine, Bruce Ohnesorge, Rita Noel, Anita White and Steve Ohnesorge.
Denny worked at Flexsteel, Dubuque Auto Supply, Big A, RainboOil, Theisen's and Marion TrueValue.
He married Suzanne (Allendorf) on June 17, 1967. Their children are Todd and Dena. Todd married Kim Snider Jan. 1, 2000 and grandson Conner was born in 2002.
Denny enjoyed his children! His favorite teams were the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He coached independent baseball for several summers in Dubuque. He helped with St. Anthony's Boy Scouts. He enjoyed some very educational and fun trips.
In 2007, Dennis and Suzie moved to Marion, Iowa. Papa Denny has spent a lot of time with grandson Conner. One of the many things they enjoyed was Tae Kwan do.
We wish to thank everyone at St. Luke's for their professional skills and the joy they brought into our lives. We thank everyone at Iowa City Oncology Clinic for giving Denny two good years. We thank the people in Phase I for accepting Denny into their study. And finally, we thank everyone in the St. Luke's Hospice program for their respect and devotion for helping us through journey's end.

Denny died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in his home with Suzie by his side. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and the family will greet friends before the service beginning at 11 a.m.
