Rarey, Marjorie V.
Marjorie V. Rarey, 91, formerly of Iowa City, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Living Center West Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
Marjorie Vivian Heidt was born May 12, 1920, in Iowa City, the daughter of Charles and Lurany (Evans) Heidt. She attended schools in Iowa City, graduating from City High School in 1939. She has lived her lifetime here in Iowa City, where she was employed by the University of Iowa in data processing.
Marjorie enjoyed Iowa Hawkeye football, playing cards, singing anywhere and anytime; she loved children and was adored by them; her family was the sparkle in her eyes, and if you were ever around her you felt her upbeat, positive spirit embrace.
Her family includes her daughter, Lorie Kulberg; son, Ronald Rarey; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Cheryl Harms and Donna Miller; former husband, Raymond Rarey; and auntie, Aylia Moyer.
