Pflughaupt, Iola Maxine
Iola Maxine Pflughaupt, 92, formerly of Central City, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Central City by Rev. Nick Needham. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her sons, Roger (Marilyn) Pflughaupt and Dennis (Nancy) Pflughaupt, both of Coggon; and Ronald (Sandra) Pflughaupt of Marion; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a sister, Irma (Ronald) Moyer of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Max; and one sister.
Maxine was born in rural Jones County, Iowa on August 7, 1918, the daughter of Clyde and Edith (Switzer) Johnson. On April 7, 1939, Maxine was united in marriage to Glenn Pflughaupt. Glenn died August 29, 1982. Maxine was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church in Central City.
A memorial fund has been established in Maxine's memory.
