Albert L. Hubbard, 90, a resident of Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehab, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at the care center on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017. Graveside services with military rites: 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Victor) Pierson of Cedar Rapids; and four sisters, Madge, Melba, Hazel and Jeannie. He also is survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Duane; and a stepson, Bruce Anderson.
Albert was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Bay Minette, Ala., the son of Orrie and Lillian Thomas Hubbard. He married Evelyn Richardson in 1947 in Alabama; they later were divorced. He then married Mary Crouse, who passed away in 1975, and later married Arla Anderson, who passed away in 1999.
Albert was a test technician at Collins and retired from there after more than 37 years of service.
He was a former member of the American Legion and proudly served in the Army as an M.P during the Nuremberg war trials.
Albert was the type of person who always would lend a hand. He was a good neighbor and had a kind heart.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mechanicsville Specialty Care for the loving care given to Albert.
