Wyant, Gerald Leroy

Gerald Leroy Wyant, 89, formerly of Deep River, went home to his Lord on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, passing peacefully at the English Valley Care Center, North English. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Church of Deep River with Pastor Ben Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Golden Rod Cemetery in Deep River, with military rites by the Morrison-Schrader American Legion Post No. 296. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Williamsburg; two daughters, Vera (Gary) Worrall of Montezuma and Nancy (Eldon) Newberry of Amana; grandchildren, Gary Patrick (Kim) Worrall of Park View, Danny Worrall of Belle Plaine and Scott (Angie) Worrall of Montezuma; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Bryce, Katie, Jordan and McKenna; nine stepchildren; 21 stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Arland (Reva) Wyant of North English.

A memorial fund has been established for United Church of Deep River or Cornerstone evangelical Free Church.
