Car lands top down in Middle Amana Pond

MIDDLE AMANA – A car landed top down in Lily Pond this afternoon.
Carlin Stover, 25, of Cedar Rapids, was traveling east bound on Highway 220 near the pond when he lost control of his 1997 Saturn and left the roadway, struck a tree and then flipped into the water upside down, police said.
A few motorists passing by helped Stover escape the car. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital by a friend, police said.
