Shirley Ann Breer, 89, of Iowa City, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at the Bird House Hospice Home of Johnson County.
Being true to Shirley's wishes, no services will be held. Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City is handling arrangements.
She was born April 4, 1929, in Dexter, Minn., the daughter of Lyall and Dorothea (Kraft) Williams. She grew up in Dexter and graduated from Elkton High School in Elkton, Minn. Shirley was united in marriage to Lawrence Breer on Nov. 29, 1947, in Grand Meadow, Minn. She has lived in Iowa City since 1949.
She is survived by her three children, William Breer of Solon, Kathryn (John) Wiley of Walford and Sherryl Eakes of Iowa City; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2017; a son, Larry; a son-in-law, Mark; seven brothers and one sister.
