Iowa guard Melissa Dixon is off to a hot start this season, and even national media has started to take notice. Dixon was featured in an ESPN.com story today about her sharpshooting talents, including where she learned to get her shot off so quickly.
The senior leads Iowa in scoring with 16.0 points per game, and has made 20 three-pointers over her last three games -- an Iowa record.
From the article:
"What makes Melissa such a good 3-point shooter?" Iowa coach Lisa Bluder said. "Well, she really works at it. And she gets off her shot so quickly.
"Our game against Syracuse, she had zero points at halftime, and then 27 in the second half. She's got that short-term memory you have to have as a shooter. She can certainly get on a roll and snowball."
Here's a package from our partners at KCRG on Dixon's hot shooting.
