Moeller, Gary Lee
Gary Lee Moeller, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church by the Rev. Michael Erickson. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Loti; daughters, Jean (Michael) Stack of Libertyville, Ill., Jill Lande of Bellevue, Wash., and Jodi (Bryan) Nordstrom of Maple Grove, Minn.; his mother, Ferne Moeller of West Point, Neb.; brothers, Lynn (Sandy) Moeller of Tulsa, Okla., and Robert (Mary Beth) Moeller of North Kingstown, R.I.; and seven grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew and William Stack, Jenae and Julian Lande and Bentley and Nyla Nordstrom.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Gary was born March 21, 1940, in Wisner, Neb., to Leo and Ferne Moeller. He attended Midland College in Freemont, Neb. Gary married Nylotis Planer in Neligh, Neb., on May 4, 1963. Gary retired from Wilson/Farmstead Foods due to his health. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and an Army veteran. Gary enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially Nebraska Husker football, golfing and horseshoes. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his granddogs, bird watching and listening to Elvis music.
The family would like to thank Linn Manor Care Center for their compassionate care over the last few years.
