Mueller, Ellen Elaine
Ellen Elaine Mueller, 85, of Elkader, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader. Mass of Christian Burial: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elkader, with the Rev. Paul R. Peters as celebrant. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hall in Elkader. As per Ellen's wishes, her body has been donated to the University Of Iowa College Of Medicine for medical research.
Survivors include her children, David (Linda) Mueller of Quasqueton, Jeffrey Mueller of Elkader, Diane (William “Bill”) Erickson of Elkader, Timothy (Barb) Mueller of Decorah, Matthew (Cindy) Mueller of Elkader, and Joseph (Denise) Mueller of Elkader; 22 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 14 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marian Patzner of Bloomington, Ill., Ruth Ponsar of Ottumwa, and Linda (Don) Leonhart of Cedar Rapids; and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Forrie Thein of Garnavillo and Melvin (Mary Lou) Thein of Maquoketa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Central Community Hospital Hospice Room, Elkader or West Union Hospice.
