May. 5, 2016 5:15 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids Utility customers may drop off old furniture and hazardous household materials 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Rapids Solid Waste & Recycling Division, 2250 A Street SW.
A red coupon, which was delivered with spring municipal bills, is required to participate. There is no charge at this time and location. Items accepted include furniture and other large household items, bug sprays and weed killer, adhesives and oil-based paints or stains and spray cans.
Staff will help unload materials, and participants are urged to keep loads separate to help with sorting. Appliances, yard waste and tires will not be collected as part of the event but may be dropped off for usual fees, according to the city. More information is available at www.CleanUpCR.com.
