Halvorson, Geneva
Geneva Halvorson, 94, of Des Moines, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, with a visitation one hour before, beginning at 10 a.m., at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Larry) Rawson of Cedar Rapids and MaryBeth (Lloyd) McCoy of Montour, Iowa; two sons, James (Isabel) Halvorson of California and Paul Halvorson of Des Moines; a sister, Doris Gulsvig of Minnesota; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Halvorson.
Geneva Halvorson was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Park Rapids, Minn., the daughter of Howard and Jenny Pearson Archibald. Her family was her greatest pleasure.
Geneva will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
