Viola Janice (Roszell) Slater, 86, of Marion, died May 29, 2016. Memorial services: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Janice was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Bonner Springs, Kan. She lived in Vinton, Iowa, as a child before moving to Marion, where she graduated from Marion High School. On June 12, 1949, Janice married Charles Lincoln Slater. They raised three daughters, Lynda (Cal) Pearson of McCallsburg, Sandy (Phil) Krumm of Center Point and Nora (Marcos) Ramirez of Lubbock, Texas.
