Paul Jeffry Pelletier, 50, of Marion, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016. No public services are planned. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his son, Noah; mother, Genie Pelletier of Clearwater, Fla.; father, Jeff Pelletier of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and Noah's mother, Karen Swanson.
Paul was born Feb. 16, 1966, in Lincoln, Neb. He served in the U.S. Navy, including a tour in Iraq. Paul worked in fundraising and consulting for the Republican Party. He was very active in the community, having served on the board of directors for the Cedar Rapids Public Library and Horizons: A Family Service Alliance. He also was active in the Republican Party of Iowa, including caucus chair. Paul enjoyed spending time with his son, Noah. He coached for Noah's basketball and baseball teams and was a Cub Scout pack volunteer.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Sean.
Memorials are suggested to the Horizons Meals on Wheels program.
