Roger W. Kinnison, 58, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services will be held at Hope Lutheran Church of Cedar Rapids on Nov. 24, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following the service at the church. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Roger was born on Aug. 18, 1960, in Bethany, Mo., the son of Forest and Twila (Ruff) Kinnison. On June 16, 1990, Roger was united in marriage to Christine White. Roger was an over-the-road semi-truck driver before becoming a driving instructor for Kirkwood Community College. Most recently, he worked for XPO Logistics in Cedar Rapids. Roger enjoyed camping, singing, playing his guitar and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his love for biscuits and gravy, making up his own language and making everyone laugh.
Roger is survived by his wife, Christine Kinnison of Cedar Rapids; children, Justin (Amber) Kinnison, Amanda Kinnison and Haley (Kyle) Kaiser, all of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Brynn Kinnison, and a future grandchild due in May 2019; siblings, Danny (Karen) Clark of Springfield, Mo., Mike (JoEllen) Clark of Chillicothe, Mo., Sherry (Bobby) Hecker of Chillicothe, Lyle Kinnison of Wonewoc, Wis., and Lori (Mike) Stevenson of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law, Carroll White; brothers- and sister-in-law, Bill White and Richard White and their families, and Lyn White; many nieces and nephews; other extended family; and all of his camping friends at Sleepy Hollow Campground in Oxford, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and his father-in-law.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, Area Ambulance Service and the Mercy Medical Center staff for the care given to Roger.
