No guns allowed signs will not stop criminals

Regarding Richard Hobbs' March 16 letter: He states that “a lot of criminals aren't nearly as brave when they don't know if their next target may be armed.” Give me a break! Where does this survey come from, Mr. Hobbs? Where on the Internet can I find the data of surveys of criminals? How many criminals do you survey each year to get this data?
You are trying to tell me that if a criminal wants to rob a bank, and he is high on drugs or needs the money desperately, that he is driving around town looking at banks and will only rob a bank that has a “no guns allowed” sign in the window. You must live in an utopian society because that's not the real world we live in.
