Jeanette Ruth McKay, 93, of What Cheer, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at Keokuk County Medical Center, Sigourney. Per her request, there will be no services. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Surviving are her children, Betty (John) Wade, Patricia (Joe) Costello, Earl L. McKay Jr., Doug McKay and Ramona Tish; 10 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. McKay Sr., and a grandson, David Heying.
Jeanette was born on May 27, 1924, in Keswick, Iowa, to Mable (Rank) and Walter Rickman. On March 13, 1943, she married Earl L. McKay Sr. in San Angelo, Texas. They raised five children, Betty (John), Patricia (Joe), Earl Jr., Doug and Ramona Tish.
