RON METSALA

Ron Metsala, lovingly known as "Uncle Ronnie," 67, passed away Jan. 14, 2018.
The family will greet friends Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Lensing Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville. Graveside services will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City following the greeting time. A reception will conclude the services at the funeral home.
The family encourages everyone to please dress in their casual apparel, just as he would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation.
Ron was born Feb. 26, 1951, in Chicago. He formerly lived in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City before moving to Broomfield, Colo., many years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Trish Metsala; son Bradley Metsale; stepson, Nick Frasher; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Biggart; sister, Janette (Steve) Birney; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Larry) Steele; granddaughter, Kyra Biggart-Frasher; nieces and nephews, Chad (Alice) Steele, Brian (Tiffany) Steele, Adam (Beth) Steele, Scott (Kally) Birney, Beth Birney, Mike (Wanda) Eby and Jason (Carmen) Eby.
Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Arnie Metsala and Lois Metsale; stepmother, Helen Metsala; father-in-law, Leonard McLachlan; mother-in-law, Eleanor McLachlan; and nephew Cory Steele.
