Time for ‘reformation’ of society’s moral code
Darwin W. Hofmeister
Apr. 24, 2014 4:58 pm
Our books are filled with laws, our courts are filled with law breakers, there is a cry for more law enforcement, and yet 'they” say we need more laws and regulations from the 'state.”
We have a general breaking down of the moral restraints of society. The complicated and expensive arrangements to restrain and punish crime would be almost unnecessary if men and women would but acknowledge and obey the requirements of God and His Word and the dictates of an enlightened conscience.
We cannot, as a nation, economically afford to continue to forcibly make people respectful and responsible. We cannot expect freedom and liberty without ethics and morality. We cannot expect the heritage of our forefathers to be there for our children and grandchildren. And most importantly, we cannot expect an eternity in heaven if we do not have salvation from Christ.
What will we pass on to our children? Now is the time to consider that and for a few concerned men and women to begin a 'reformation.”
