Robert Greve, 83, of Central City, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. The family requests casual attire be worn. Inurnment will take place at Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City, at a later date.
Bob was born July 12, 1934, at home in North Buena Vista, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Anna (Jaeger) Greve. He proudly served in the United States Army. On Nov. 8, 1958, in Dubuque, Bob was united in marriage to Vera Romig. He retired from Linn County where he was a heavy equipment operator. Bob was a member of the AmVets Post #37 in Central City. He loved fishing and his John Deere tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Vera; children, Cheryl (Howard) Duckett, Mark (Carol) Greve and Joan (Steve) Clary; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Leo; and four siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Dubuque or Alzheimer's Association in Bob's memory.
