BETTY NAPPE
Norway
Betty Nappe, 89, of Norway, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at the Keystone Care Center, Keystone, Iowa. Private family graveside service will be held at Norway Cemetery, Norway, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Betty was born Aug. 4, 1928, the daughter of Sever and Helen (Skagland) Enderson. She graduated from Lake Mills High School. Betty married Stanley Nappe on Aug. 4, 1950, in Albert Lea, Minn.
"Bingo Betty" has left the parlor. For years, this little lady would show up at area bingo parlors armed only with dabbers and leave with piles of cash, most of which eventually made its way to the grandchildren. Fearless and relentless, Betty approached life with a no-holds-barred philosophy. In her later years, local garage sales would always keep an eye out for the little 5'1" lady who was so adept at negotiating a 50-cent box of junk down to a quarter.
In the end, the bingo parlors and garage sales gave way to an undying love for Panera and the National Enquirer. Somewhere, hopefully heaven, people are being entertained by this vibrant and energetic little lady. RIP Betty Lou (Enderson) Nappe.
Betty is survived by children, Gary Nappe of Norway, Iowa, Wayne (Jeanne Muellerleile) Nappe of Monticello, Iowa, and Margo Nappe of Blairstown, Iowa; grandchildren, Miranda (Robert) Pedrigi of Goodletsville, Tenn., Allison M. (Kel Vin Woo) Nappe of St. Louis, Mo., Nick Fisher and Noah Fisher of Blairstown, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; three brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Betty's memory by showing a random act of kindness to a family member or stranger.
