Dwyer, James R.
James R. Dwyer, 87, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully at Bickford Cottage on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, following a lengthy illness. Private family graveside services will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Oxford.
Jim was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Oxford, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Annis (McDonough) Dwyer. He grew up in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School. Jim later went on to proudly serve in the United States Marines during World War II. Following being honorably discharged from the Marines, Jim worked for Rockwell Collins as a sales administrator, retiring in 1988 with over 34 years of service.
Survivors include his sister, Virginia Paul of Iowa City; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
