Softball area Super Ten, and standings

Area softball Super Ten, through games played Tuesday, June 2:
1. BENTON COMMUNITY (11-0) - Bobcats have outscored opposition by 86-10 margin. Alyssa Wiebel leads the state in home runs (5) and is second in RBIs (18).
2. IOWA CITY WEST (6-0) - Already with impressive sweeps over Cedar Rapids Xavier and Cedar Rapids Prairie. Pitching has been superb: Staff ERA of 0.74.
3. SOLON (5-1) - Stubbed its toe against Davenport Assumption on Friday, but appears to be an overwhelming favorite again in the Wamac East.
4. CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON (5-1) - Bottom of the order appears stronger than in the past. Pitchers have allowed just four walks in six games.
5. MID-PRAIRIE (5-1) - Grabbed the inside track of the River Valley South Division race with a sweep at Iowa City Regina on Monday, then fell at unbeaten Northeast on Tuesday.
6. CEDAR RAPIDS KENNEDY (6-0) - Last year's jump was no fluke. Cougars join West as the final remaining MVC unbeatens, in either division. Intriguing test tonight at Solon.
7. CENTER POINT-URBANA (8-3) - Just one run in an 0-3 weekend at Jefferson, but the Stormin' Pointers have rebounded nicely. Freshman Maddie Karr already has four home runs to her credit.
8. CEDAR RAPIDS XAVIER (2-4) - Saints have endured a tough early schedule. Clutch pitching performance by Kylie Oldridge gave them a split at Cedar Rapids Jefferson.
9. CEDAR RAPIDS PRAIRIE (2-3) - After three runs in the first three games, Prairie's bats awakened in a much-needed sweep over Cedar Rapids Washington on Tuesday.
10. CEDAR RAPIDS WASHINGTON (4-2) - The bad news, a clunker in two losses vs. Cedar Rapids Prairie. The good news, the Warriors are still tied for the MVC Mississippi Division lead.
