Smith, Brian P.
Brian P. Smith, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, in his home surrounded by his family. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with burial to follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel.
Brian was born Sept. 25, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Gordon P. and Betty L. (Vozenilek) Smith. Brian worked for over 22 years at Oak Hill Manor. He worked at Chappy's Safari and also Shuey's in Shueyville as a cook. Brian enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gambling and spending time with his many friends and family.
Brian is survived by his son, Ryan Smith; his daughter, Cori (Michael) Mason; five grandchildren, Nattasha, Annabelle, Landon, Navaida and Skilyer; his mother, Betty Smith; brothers, David Smith and Scott (Dani) Smith all of Cedar Rapids; as well as his nieces and nephews Amy, Megan and Justin; numerous loving cousins; and his uncle Frank (Shirley) Vozenilek of Cedar Rapids.
Brian was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents; an uncle, Steve Huggins; and a cousin, Mike Vozenilek.
