Linford "Lin" Smith, 76, of Marshalltown, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Hawkeye Care Center in Marshalltown under the care of Iowa River Hospice.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at First United Church of Christ in Marshalltown. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.

Linford Arthur Smith was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Herbert S. and Ina Mae (Cocking) Smith. Lin attended school in the Manchester Community School District, graduating with the class of 1957. He went on and attended LeTourneau Technical Institute and University of Dubuque and received his business administration degree. On Sept. 3, 1959, Linford was united in marriage to Rosalie I. Myers in Manchester. Lin had worked for Enron for 38 years. Linford and Rosalie had lived in Marshalltown for the past four years.
Lin had been a member of Toastmasters and First United Church of Christ. He enjoyed camping, cars and loved his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Rosalie of Marshalltown; his children, Marschall (Ruth) Smith of Denver, Colo., Gregory (Angela) Smith of Kansas City, Mo., Kameron (Julie) Smith of Cadillac, Mich., Tad (Heather) Smith of Gilbert, Ariz., Jeremy (Gwen) Smith of Winterset, Andrea (Matt) Arnold of Omaha, Neb., and Shaphan (Teresa) Smith of Marshalltown; 21 grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Sedlacek of Surf City, N.J., and Mary (Mike) Larson of Shell Rock; and brothers, Lowell (Marilyn) Smith of New York and Pete (Judy) Smith of Mesa, Ariz.
In death, Lin rejoins his parents, Herbert and Ina Mae.
