Smith, Mary A.
Mary A. Smith, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2013, at her home following a sudden illness. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call one hour before the service on Wednesday at the chapel. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mary Smith was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Harry and Elise (Scott) Phillipson. She was united in marriage to Virgil Smith. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Mary Smith is survived by two siblings, Willard (Lorene) Clark of Anamosa and Wilda (Ivan) Ralston of Cedar Rapids; and many loving grandkids, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil Smith; and four children, Harry Smith, Denny Smith, Dale Smith and an infant son, Matthew Mark Smith.
