Claire Ellen Tigan, 95, of Anamosa, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Pinicon Place. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 5, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion. Burial will follow the service. A luncheon will be held at the church.
Claire Ellen Koebler was born on March 31, 1923, the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (O'Brien) Koebler. She was united in marriage to Carl Guio; he later passed away. Claire then married John D. Tigan; he passed away in 1974. Claire enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings; her husbands; and children, Connie Roach and her husband, Mike, Nancy Waite and David Tigan.
Left to cherish Claire's memories are her children, Mary (Don) Heilman of Makinen, Minn., John (Leigh) Tigan of Marion, Iowa, Bob Waite of Anamosa and Barb Tigan of Mendota Heights, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research in Claire's name.
