Pospichal, Frances 'Pat'
Frances “Pat” Pospichal, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with the Rev. Philip Thompson officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home where a vigil service will be at 5 p.m.
Survivors include her son, Brian (Ellen) Pospichal of Anamosa; one grandson, Wesley of Oakdale, Minn.; one brother, Robert (Suzanne) Lohuis of McIntire; three sisters, Margaret (John) Shatek of Elma, Mary (John) Havlik, of Center Point, and Sharon (Bill) Zweibohmer of Elma; her beloved two cats, Misty and Sugar; and her German Shepherd grandpups.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, David W. Pospichal.
Frances “Pat” Pospichal was born Feb. 2, 1935, the daughter of David and Mae (Biwer) Lohuis. She was united in marriage to David W. Pospichal on March 24, 1954, they later were blessed with one son. Throughout the years Pat enjoyed sewing, needle crafts, bowling and was an avid animal lover. Pat began working at Rockwell Collins in 1959 and for 39 years worked in the Air Transport Division as a warranty administrator. She retired in 1998. Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
