Dear soldiers who died in Vietnam,
You are not forgotten. I am sad that you died because of a war. While visiting the Vietnam War Memorial in D.C., I was sickened at how many lives were sacrificed for the war. The way I could deal with the loss was to tell myself naively that it was horrible, but at least our nation learned a tragic lesson and we would never participate in such a war again.
When we invaded Iraq in Desert Storm I was devastated. Maybe you already know about Veterans for Peace. Some of the soldiers who were in the war with you are now waging peace. Our president of our chapter of Veterans of Peace also fought in Vietnam. Each year on his birthday he thinks if his fellow soldiers who died in Vietnam. Please help the United States of America to be more peaceful. Some people are working very hard for peace and some profit from wars. We are in so many wars. May peace now be with you.
