Brunscheen, Cecelia T.
Cecelia T. Brunscheen, 88, of Wyoming, Iowa, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction, with the Rev. Greg Steckel officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, Iowa.
Cecelia Teresa Lasack was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Oxford Junction, Iowa, to John and Julia (Hanak) Lasack. She graduated from Oxford Junction High School. She married Donald Brunscheen on May 6, 1944, in Oxford Junction. He died on March 12, 2002. Cecelia farmed with her husband.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction, and the Midland Homemakers. She liked to dance and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and baking kolaches and rollicks. She also enjoyed hunting for and shelling hickory nuts.
She loved to visit the area casinos.
She is survived by one son, Eugene (Shirlee) Brunscheen of Wyoming; one daughter, Teresa (David) Tobiason of Scotch Grove; three granddaughters, Lisa (Todd) Rickels of Monticello, Kris (Lucas) Gobeli of Anamosa, Bailey Gray of Center Junction; one stepgrandson, Jon Tobiason of Monticello; three great-grandchildren, Kacie and Paige Rickels and Jasper Tobiason; and one sister, Viola Bramer of Maquoketa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Church, Oxford Junction; Midland Ambulance; or Wyoming Fire Department.
