M.W. "BUD" MCCANN
Shellsburg
M.W. "Bud" McCann, 89, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Ave., Vinton, with the Rev. Walt Grimes officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg, with graveside military rites conducted by Ray and Virginia Boyer American Legion Post 166 of Shellsburg and U.S. Navy Funeral Honors. Friends may register at the family center from 1 p.m. until service time on Friday.
"Bud" was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilber McCann. On Oct. 2, 1948, he married Analah A.D. Huntley in Cedar Rapids. She preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2013.
"Bud" farmed and was employed at Quaker Oats for 30 years. He loved farming and his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Overbey of Marion; and his grand-children, Charles (Kelly) Overbey of Urbana, Joseph Overbey of Urbana, Jessica (Cody) Randall of Shellsburg, and Jayson and Jordan Overby, both of Urbana.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four siblings.
