Grishaber, Alida E.

Alida E. Grishaber, 95, of 1030 Memorial Dr. SE, Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Private family services will be held Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Genevieve Grishaber; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Oliver, Rudy and Harvey; and three sisters, Jane, Helen and Rosalie.

Alida was born on March 11, 1916, in Alburnett, the daughter of Eugene and Mary Bloom Grishaber. She worked at Quaker Oats as a tester for over 33 years, retiring in 1975. Alida was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts and helping others. She was a wonderful daughter, sister and aunt who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
