CEDAR RAPIDS - Construction of First Federal Credit Union's second branch office has begun at the corner of Williams Boulevard and Westdale Drive SW in Cedar Rapids.
'We are very pleased to see the work beginning on our new facility,” said Tom Chalstrom, president and CEO. 'This is an ideal location for our members and is part of First Federal's continued commitment and approach to providing service and convenience to our members where, when and how they use our products and services.”
The credit union, with its home office at 425 First Ave. SW, announced plans in August to build a 7,600-square-foot building. The branch is expected to open during the fourth quarter of this year.
First Federal, which also has an office at 1035 N. Center Point Rd. in Hiawatha, will occupy half the building, with the remaining portion used for either leased space or future expansion.
First Federal, chartered in 1926, is a 10,600-member community credit union. It is the second-oldest credit union in the state of Iowa.
